What is a Crypto Investment Calculator?

A crypto investment calculator helps estimate what an investment in cryptocurrency could be worth if its market price changes.

Enter the price at which you purchase cryptocurrency, the amount invested and an expected future price. The calculator estimates your investment's future value, profit or loss and percentage return.

How is crypto investment profit calculated?

First, divide the amount invested by the purchase price to calculate how many cryptocurrency units you acquire.

Multiply those units by the expected future price to estimate their future market value.

Deduct the estimated selling fee and your total original investment cost, including buying fees, to calculate potential profit or loss.

Crypto investment example

Suppose you invest $1,000 in cryptocurrency when it costs $50,000 per coin.

If its price increases to $75,000, your 0.02 coins would have a gross future value of $1,500.

With a 0.5% buying fee and a 0.5% selling fee, your potential profit would be $487.50.

How are trading fees included?

The buying fee is added to the investment amount. For example, a $1,000 cryptocurrency purchase with a 0.5% buying fee costs $1,005 in total.

The selling fee is deducted from the estimated future market value. Both fees are included when calculating profit and return on investment.

What is the break-even future price?

The break-even future price is the cryptocurrency price required to recover your initial investment and trading fees after selling.

A future price above break-even would produce a profit, while a lower price would produce a loss.

Can this calculator predict cryptocurrency prices?

No. The expected future price is an assumption entered by you, not a forecast.

Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile. Prices can change rapidly and investments can lose substantial value.

What costs are excluded?

This calculator does not include capital gains taxes, network fees, exchange spreads, slippage or currency conversion charges.
